Alumni

Dear St. Paul the Apostle Alumni,

The first semester, of the 2010-2011 school year, has brought many exciting programs to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic School.

·     Our theme this year is “Treat others right. Do the right thing.”  This theme focuses our school on the Jesus’s Golden Rule and bully prevention.

·     We had an Olweus Bully Prevention Kickoff Day on September 24. The day began with the celebration of Mass. Community members and parents conducted sessions for the students about how to prevent and deal with bully situations, including cyber-bullying.

·     We are at our highest enrollment in the past 20 years with 540 students, preschool through 8th grade.

·     We honored our Veteran’s on November 11th, with a special tribute to Iowa’s Congressional Medal of Honor winners.

·     Our annual Senior Thanksgiving Feast was held on November 18, with 130 of our parish and community seniors in attendance.

·     Our 7/8th grade Jazz Band provided music for the send off festivities for the Honor Flight to the Washington DC War Memorials.

·     In February we will have our Home and School Adult Social Auction to raise money to replace the asbestos tiles in the 1950’s and 60’s addition of the school.

I always enjoy reconnecting with our alumni as parents and grandparents of our current students, or meeting alumni in the community. As a part of the St. Paul the Apostle Catholic School family, we would love to know what you, our alumni, are doing and how your Catholic education has impacted your life.  If your class has a reunion, please let us know.  We can arrange a school tour.  I can be contacted at julie.delaney@st-paul.pvt.k12.ia.us.

Yours in Christ,

Julie C. Delaney
